Josh Frost Wins Pool A, Round 1 Bull Riding in Calgary

Four cowboys made the whistle on Friday afternoon and Josh Frost was the No. 1 man thanks to an 88 point ride on Wayne Vold’s Big Bird.

“There was a lot of excitement, really had to focus on staying calm,” he said. “I knew I had a really good bull and he did what the book said.

Clayton Sellars was second in the round and Jordan Hansen and Cole Fischer also covered their bulls to get a chick. Each round pays five cowboys and only four made the whistle Friday, but Ky Hamilton has a re-ride for Round 1 at the beginning of Round 2 on Saturday.

Frost is No. 2 in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings and will make $5,500 for the Go-Round win, pending Hamilton’s re-ride.

The Top 4 cowboys in each pool based on money earned advance to Championship Sunday. You can watch every performance of The Calgary Stampede through July 17 on The Cowboy Channel and PRCA on Cowboy Channel+.
