Coming off a World Championship in December, Junior Nogueira has opened up a lead in the heeling of more than $10,000, which makes him and his partner Kaleb Driggers the only non-RodeoHouston winners to lead their respective PRCA World Standings.
1. Junior Noguiera, $84,050
Nogueira and Driggers rodeoed for the first time since May 14 over the weekend of June 12 and placed in two of the three rodeos they entered and won over $4,000.
2. Jake Long, $71,069
Jake Long and partner Clay Tryan finished third in the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show on June 12 in addition to winning the Pony Express Rodeo (Utah) on June 11. Long and Tryan made over $5,000 for the entire weekend.
3. Buddy Hawkins, $54,398
Buddy Hawkins and partner Andrew Ward, the reigning NFR Average winners, placed in 6-of-8 rodeos in the first two weeks of June.
4. Jonathan Torres, $46,058
Roping with his brother Joshua, Torres placed fourth in the Sisters Rodeo (Oregon) and won the Glenville Round-Up Rodeo (California) over the weekend of June 12.
5. Wesley Thorp, $42,691
Thorp and partner Cody Snow have placed in 3-of-7 rodeos so far in June. The Texas native is looking for his seventh consecutive NFR qualification.
6. Travis Graves, $42,292
Graves and Partner Dustin Egusquiza won almost $9,000 the weekend of June 12 thanks to three times of 4.7 seconds or faster leading to three Top 3 finishes and a win at the Eagle Rodeo (Idaho).
7. Joseph Harrison, $38,029
Harrison and partner Bubba Buckaloo won the 101 Wild West Rodeo on June 11 and have placed in five other rodeos this month. Five of their last seven runs have been 4.7 seconds or faster.
8. Levi Lord $37,678
Lord and partner Jr. Dees won $3,590 for winning the Livermore Rodeo (California) and $2,707 for finishing third at the Sisters Rodeo. Both of those rodeos concluded on June 12.
9. Jeremy Buhler, $37,324
Like Dees/Lord, Buhler and partner Rhen Richard also delivered in a big way in Sisters and Livermore. The pair won in Sisters with a 5.0 second run and were fourth in Livermore with a 4.8 to win $5,500 in total.
10. Jade Corkill, $37,261
Corkill entered just one rodeo in May and just one so far in June. He has been to 12 NFRs since 2008 and won three Gold Buckles.
11. Lane Mitchell, $36,002
Since placing in three consecutive rodeos in the middle of May, Mitchell and partner Cory Kidd have won just two checks totaling $230 since.
12. Brye Crites, $34,868
Crites and partner Jake Orman finished first at Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days (Texas) on June 11 and second at the 101 Wild West Rodeo the same weekend. Crites has finished No. 22 in the PRCA World Standings each of the last two years.
13. Brady Minor, $33,325
Minor and his brother and partner Riley have won checks of more than $1,250 at three straight rodeos including a win in Eagle on June 11 that paid close to $3,000.
14. Jake Minor, $30,870
Minor and partner Jeff Flenniken started June by winning the Santa Maria Rodeo (California) on June 5, but did not win a check at four rodeos the following weekend.
15. Paul Eaves, $30,270
Eaves jumped into contention for his 10th NFR by winning Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days with partner Chad Masters on June 11. They also placed in both rounds at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo (Texas) last weekend.
16. Logan Medlin, $29,368
Medlin and partner Coleman Proctor have won one check since the conclusion of Guymon Pioneer Days (Oklahoma) on May 8.
17. Jake Edwards, $28,442
Edwards has won one check in June. The New York native has never made the NFR, but finished No. 20 in 2020.
18. Coleby Payne, $26,102
Roping with Lightning Aguilera, Payne won the Woodward Elks Rodeo (Oklahoma) on June 11, but that is his only check since Helotes on April 30. The 23-year-old has finished as high as No. 29 in the PRCA World Standings.
19. Wyatt Cox, $26,006
Dating back to May 6, Cox has won one check for $195 on his last 12 runs.
20. Cory Petska, $25,974
Petska, a 15-time NFR qualifier, won Guymon with Chad Masters on May and has entered just one rodeo since.
