Fred Eichler was the first hunter ever to record the Super Slam of North American big game with a traditional bow.
The Super Slam is all 29 big game species in North America and some of the crazier ones include grizzly bears, polar bears, caribou and bighorn sheep.
“You talk about an exciting adventure and something that ties in with Johnny Morris’ adventures here,” Eichler said. “It’s just all about the adventure, the places, the people you get to meet and I’ve had some crazy adventures.”
One of Eichler’s adventures, which have included being face-to-face with leopard and attacked by an alligator, was captured on video. He was on a raft and was charged by a mother brown bear after they inadvertently startled her cubs.
“It happened flash of an eye,” he said. “You’re not the top apex predator when you’re in the woods.”
