Richard Childress and Austin Dillon Talk Racing, Bull Riding And More on the Bass Pro Tailgate Party

NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Childress and three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Austin Dillon joined the Bass Pro Tailgate Party last week.

Childress and Dillon are not just heavily involved in racing, but also rodeo. Childress said back when he was racing, he was sponsored by Wrangler, so alongside Dale Earnhardt, he went to a lot of rodeos back in the day. Now, they’re involved with the PBR as Childress will serve as the owner and Dillion will be the GM of the Carolina Cowboys of the Team Series.

“Those bull riders are different, when we go meet ‘em and talk to ‘em, salt of the Earth type people first,” Dillon said. “You see them pray with the bulls for they get on and that’s the type of people I want to be around. We’ll go talk about racing, you’re crazy and I’m like ‘what, I gotta helmet on, a five-point harness, all of the safety features in the world. Those guys are way crazier than me.”
