RodeoHouston’s final SuperSeries concluded on Tuesday and after 15 performances, the field is set for Wednesday and Thursday’s Semifinals.
In bareback riding, perennial NFR qualifiers Kaycee Feild, Clayton Biglow and Orin Larsen each won a round and advanced to the Semifinals. They will be joined by 15-time NFR qualifier Will Lowe.
In steer wrestling, all four cowboys advancing earned between $3,000 and $4,000. Hunter Cure, the Round 1 winner, was the top bulldogger in the SuperSeries.
Team roping was won by a new pair, which has been a bit of a theme of this ProRodeo season. Paul Eaves/Derrick Begay, who have each made nine NFRs, won a round and finished third in another to snag the top spot.
Thanks to a pair of 87 point rides in the first two rounds, Brody Cress was the champion of SuperSeries V in saddle bronc riding. He won Round 2 on Yesterday’s Delivery and made $5,750 total.
Tie-down roping was loaded in SuperSeries V as 2021 NFR qualifiers Hunter Herrin, Ty Harris, Marty Yates and Ryan Jarrett all advanced. Hunter Herrin won Round 3 with the fastest time of the SuperSeries to finish first.
Barrel racing was won by Nellie Miller and she will be joined in the Semifinals by fellow 2021 NFR qualifiers Hailey Kinsel, Stevi Hillman and Wenda Johnson.
In the other ladies’ event, Katie Mundorf was the champion with a 2.8 second run in breakaway roping.
Finally, in bull riding there was a duel between the last two World Champions. Sage Kimzey and Stetson Wright both went 2-for-3, won a round and made a 90 point ride in SuperSeries V, but it was Kimzey beating out Wright by $750 for the No. 1 spot.
