Lightning Aguilera and Jonathan Torres had never roped together prior to showing up in San Antonio, but because their usual partners did not qualify they competed together. The pairing ended up being a match made in heaven as they were 4.2 seconds to win the rodeo in San Antone.
“I’m super excited, first team out and there were some great teams behind us,” Aguilera said. “Tried to give him (Torres) a good go and give him a chance, and he cleaned it up.”
Four of their five runs were 5.3 seconds or faster and now that the dust has settled in San Antonio, Aguilera is No. 2 in the PRCA Header World Standings and Torres is No. 1 on the heel side.
