Another big indoor rodeo has wrapped up and the PRCA World Standings are starting to take shape as we head into March.
The roughstock events have been dominated by some familiar faces so far in 2022. Kaycee Feild, Stetson Wright and Sage Kimzey all won World Championships in 2021 and they all also won Fort Worth earlier this month.
In San Antonio, it was more of the same. Feild was 91.5 points on Calgary’s Agent Lynx to win the bareback riding Finals, Wright was 90.5 Pete Carr’s Larry Culpepper to claim the saddle bronc and Kimzey was the bull riding champ with 92 aboard Andrews Rodeo’s Ol’ Son.
All three cowboys are now No. 1 in the world in their respective events.
In the two ladies’ events, Hailey Kinsel won the barrel racing by almost three tenths of a second with a time of 13.76 seconds. Thing were a little closer for breakaway champion Martha Angelone as she was 2.1 seconds to edge Cadee Williams by one tenth.
The timed event winners in San Antonio were J.D. Struxness in steer wrestling, Lightning Aguilera/Jonathon Torres in tam and Tuf Cooper in tie-down roping.
Struxness is now No. 4 in the world, Aguilera is No. 2, Torres is No. 1 and Cooper is No. 3.
