After a 90.5 point ride to win the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, reigning World Champion Stetson Wright is in a familiar position, No. 1 in the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Standings.
“I had some good luck on her the first time I got on her at the (National) Finals in 2020,” Wright said when asked why he drafted Pete Carr’s Larry Culpepper. “I knew that her being like that was dang for sure going to give me a chance to win.”
There were nine rides in the Short Round over 88 points in the round and five over 89.5.
Wright, who also won Fort Worth, has now earned more than $53,000 in 2022. He leads the closest cowboy, Sterling Crawley, by about $12,000.
