Breakaway roper Lari Dee Guy was had the top time in a very fast breakaway roping on Thursday night in Fort Worth.
Guy stopped the clock at 1.9 seconds in a performance where six cowgirls had times of 2.6 seconds or faster.
“That calf ended up being great, I knew that he was gonna be a little funny at the start so I wanted to make sure he got started first, but man, all of the girls tonight roped great, I loved watching,” she said.
Guy won $1,760 for her win, which is the same as all of the other events for the first time in history.
“It’s outstanding (to be a part of breakaway roping right now), if it wasn’t for Fort Worth being behind us and adding over $100,000 and giving us an equal chance, it wouldn’t be where it is.”
