Best Moments of 2021: Rookie bull rider Creek Young wins two Go-Rounds at first NFR

It always takes an amazing season to win Resistol Rookie of the Year, but Creek Young was even better than the rest in 2021.

The bull rider finished fifth in the PRCA World Standings with $243,647 and capped off his season with two Go-Round wins at his first NFR.

Young was 92 points on Evil Intentions to win Round 3 and then a few nights later, he was marked 90.5 on Ugly Wish to win Round 6.

“Just a special night for the rookies I guess, I knew I had a good bull drawn and capitalized on rookie night to get the win,” he said after Round 6. “He’s just kind of an old school brahman, showy and flashy....Sweet bull, rider friendly.”

En route to his Resistol Rookie of the Year crown, Young won the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show & Rodeo, Strawberry Days Rodeo (Utah), Home Of Champions Rodeo Xtreme Bulls (Montana), Lea County PRCA Rodeo Xtreme Bulls (New Mexico), Missoula Stampede Xtreme Bulls, Kit Carson County Pro Rodeo (Colorado), Omak Stampede (Washington), Tri-State Rodeo (Iowa), Egg Xtreme Bull Riding Event (Mississippi).

Young rode 46 percent of his bulls for an average score of 83.94 points in 2021.
