Cheyenne Wimberly will begin her fifth NFR No. 6 in the WPRA World Standings and with a lot of momentum.
In the last weekend of the season, the 46-year-old finished second at the ProRodeo Tour Finale in Salinas and won the Sheriff’s PRCA Rodeo to bank more than $13,000.
Wimberly won $21,525 and moved up six spots in September after starting the month No. 12 in the world.

Earlier in the year, Wimberly had a big weekend to end July, placing second at Nebraska’s Big Rodeo and Deadwood Days of ’76. Those two runner-up finishes won her almost $6,000 combined.
Wimberly also pulled in more than $5,000 for finishing fourth at the Cody Stampede and $4,000 for finishing second at the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, both of those rodeos were also in July.
Before the summer run, Wimberly got off to a great start in Texas. In April, she won nearly $10,000 at San Angelo and and also was the champion in Lufkin and Longivew.
Wimberly has made three NFRs in a row and previously qualified in 1997 and 1998. She made a total of $77,132 in 2021 and trails No. 1 Hailey Kinsel by about $36,000.
Last year, Wimberly placed in three rounds at the NFR and in 2019, she placed in two.
