Shane Hanchey stopped the clock at 9.6 seconds to have the top tie-down roping run in Wednesday’s performance.
Slack rounds started earlier this week in tie-down roping, so Hanchey is No. 4 in the Average and is hoping to return for the Short Round because the Pendleton Round-Up is his favorite rodeo of the year.
“I’ve been telling my parents to come check it out because it’s like Mardi Gras, but in Oregon,” he said.
