Sage Kimzey re-lives his win, 3-for-3 performance at Cactus Jack Xtreme Bulls

Sage Kimzey looked every bit like the six-time World Champion he is in Uvalde, Texas. He rode all three of bulls, registering a 91-point ride and a 93-point ride on the same day, to come away with the victory.

“Man, what a bull riding. Honestly, it was one of the best bull riding’s I’ve been a part of in awhile,” he said. “Great set of bulls, great set of guys, the fans were amazing. It was just a great bull riding from top to bottom.”

Kimzey was 86.5 points on United Pro Rodeo’s Playboy Slinger which put him in seventh in Round 1.

“Anytime you’re talking about 86.5 points splitting the last hole paycheck, you know it was a pretty good event,” he said.

The next night, Kimzey had the highest marked ride of the rodeo, a massive 93 points on Lancaster & Jones’ He Reigns.

“There’s been quite a few good guys get on him and he hasn’t been ridden that often, he’s a good one for sure......I knew he’d give me a really good shot to at least do good in the second round and come into the Short Round sitting pretty and he definitely did that.”

He wasn’t done there. On his third and final bull of the event, he was 91 points on Harper & Morgan’s #51, one of two cowboys to make the whistle in the Finals.

“What dream draws, you know, those are the kind that all of the top cowboys want to get on right there. Just buck hard, no tricks about ‘em, just really good bulls,” Kimzey said. “That little bull was no exception......It was if you can keep up, I’ll take you to the pay window.”
