Powder River’s bucking horses are built off of heart and genetics.
Owner and operator John Franzen said they work with the horses on a feed program and on their feet when they’re younger, but mostly it’s just the horses doing what they were born to do.
“We don’t do a lot of training with bucking horses, we breed them for what they love to do and they go out and perform on their own,” he said.
Franzen said they have not done any cloning in their own herd, but down the line they may be open to it.
