Shad Mayfield Cinches the Round 1 Win in Sioux Falls

The best of the best backed into the box in Round 1 of the Cinch Playoff’s Governors Cup and Shad Mayfield came out victorious with a quick time of 7.2 seconds.

The World Champion dedicated his success in Sioux Falls to Sydney Arthur, daughter of National Finals Rodeo header Todd Arthur and dear friend of Mayfield’s who passed away just yesterday morning.

“I was backing in the box tonight for a special person, huge prayers to the Arthur family, lost a big friend of mine this morning and that one was for her,” Mayfield said.

The horsepower and determination brought by Mayfield ensured a solid run and a $10,000 check for the Texas cowboys as he sits No. 3 in the World Standings with a fourth National Finals Rodeo qualification secured.
