Saddle Bronc Rider Sage Newman Wins RodeoHouston in First Appearance

Sage Newman made a jaw-dropping 93 point ride in RodeoHouston’s Championship Shootout on Saturday to go from No. 6 to No. 1 in the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Standings.

Newman got it done on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Billie, his third horse in two days after advancing through the Wild Card on Friday night.

“First time to Houston, drew some good horses and it all worked out,” he said. “Very good horse, held my mark out probably longer than I should’ve, but it felt pretty good, he stayed it one spot and it all worked out I guess.”

Wyatt Casper made two straight 90 point rides on Saturday to finish second and Stetson Wright and Dawson Hay rounded out the Top 4.
