Leslie Smalygo, No. 15 in the WPRA World Standings, was sporting a noticeable new hair color at Cheyenne Frontier Days on Saturday, she said it was red because she needs to go like her hair is on fire for the rest of the season to make her first NFR.
She stopped the clock at 17.38 seconds to win the first Go-Round in the barrel racing and advance to the Semifinals. So far, so good.
In Cheyenne, there are six Long Round performances and the Top 4 from each advance to the Semifinals. Paige Jones, Lisa Lockhart and Michelle Merrick were the other three from Saturday’s barrel race.
