Jamie Olsen was the first barrel racer of the afternoon in Cheyenne which meant she had to sweat out her time the rest of the round. Olsen said she could hardly watch the round after getting the win.
“It was tough, I was holding my breath a lot, I was shaking from my run. I am just excited, I didn’t even think it was possible.”
It is Olsen’s rookie season and she is making the most of her runs, something she has dreamed of doing since she was a child.
“It was a childhood dream of mine when I was a little girl. I kind of put it on the wayside, I never had that horse when I was in high school. When I got out of high school I knew that I needed to get a career so I went into nursing school... and then I became a mom. I decided there is no better time than now.”
