The Top 3 cowgirls in the WPRA Breakaway Roping World Standings have surpassed $100,000 in earnings this season and the competition is tougher than ever with household names claiming a majority of the positions within the Top 20.
No. 2 Shelby Boisjoli, $12,406
Shelby Boisjoli took home the Caldwell Breakaway Roping Title as she closed out the Final Round with a 3.0-second run to solidify her position at No. 1 in the Average. Boisjoli turned in an aggregate time of 8.7 seconds on three head to collect $6,212 in earnings in Idaho to further her position at No. 2 in the World Standings. Boisjoli now trails No. 1 cowgirl Hali Williams by $5,440 with six weeks remaining in the regular season.
No. 3 Sarah Angelone, $102,539
A tie for the win in Moses Lake secured Sarah Angelone a check for $2,435 just after claiming the win at the Baker Breakaway Roping. Angelone made out with $3,848 at the Caldwell Breakaway Roping bringing her total money earned over the week to just under $8,750 as she reclaims the No. 3 spot in the World Standings. Angelone and her sister Martha have exchanged positions in the rankings, with Martha now holding her spot at No. 4.
No. 17 Kendal Pierson, $49,842
Kendal Pierson remains on the bubble as she moved from No. 19 to No. 17 in the World Standings after pulling a check for just over $3,000 in Caldwell, ID. Pierson secured two Go-Round check and claimed the No. 4 spot in the Average. The Canadian cowgirl is right outside the Top 15 as she continues to fight for her chance at her first National Finals Breakaway Roping qualification.
