West: The American Cowboy

French photographer Anouk Krantz became enamoured with the western lifestyle upon moving to the United States, but when she decided venture out West from New York City to document cowboy culture, she says, “little did I know that this would be a huge project.”

On why she chose the American cowboy as the subject for her book, West: The American Cowboy, Krantz says, “I think more than anything, the values… integrity, dignity, and love for what you do, for your family, your community, your neighbors, your country, and your land.”

On Western Sports Round-Up, Krantz talks about her inspiration for the book and the upcoming sequel.
