JC Mortensen rode Easy Street for 86 points Wednesday night in the semi-finals of RFD-TV’s The American at Cowtown Coliseum.
By winning the go-round Wednesday, he put himself into terrific position to advance to Friday night’s Short Round as he now sits in second place overall behind Dalton Kasel.
Mortensen, who is just 20, overcame a field that included past American Rodeo Champions and PBR World Champions.
“To be riding at this big of a stage is amazing,” he said.
