After getting bucked off the first two nights, Ty Wallace has three straight rides of 88.5 points or better and has won the last two bull riding Go-Rounds.

On Monday night, he electrified the crowd for 91.5 points on Rafter G’s Freddy Fender. His ride was the highest of the rodeo so far and came right after Stetson Wright rode Brahma Boots Chrome for 90 points.

WRIGHT’S RIDE

“I’m just having fun, putting my hand in that bull rope and not thinking about anything,” Wallace said. “I don’t feel any pressure or anything.

Wallace has now made a whopping $102,000 at the 2020 Wrangler NFR.

Wallace and Wright are in the heart of the Gold Buckle race alongside No. 2 Colten Fritzlan and No. 1 Ky Hamilton. Both Fritzlan and Hamilton are 4-for-5, with Hamilton having 347 points to Fritzlan’s 343.

Wallace says five years ago, he may have thought about his place in the world standings and potentially winning a Gold Buckle, but he’s since learned to take it one bull at a time.

Six-time reigning World Champion Sage Kimzey was bucked off Monday and is quickly fading from World Title contention.
