Tie-Down Roper Cory Solomon Wins Wild Card Round with Second Fastest Time of Fort Worth Rodeo

Cory Solomon was 7.6 seconds in the Wild Card round and he needed almost every tenth to edge out Shad Mayfield, who also advanced to the Semifinals in Fort Worth with a time of 7.8 seconds.

Solomon’s time was the second fastest of the rodeo so far, only trailing Quade Hiatt’s 7.4 in Bracket 1, Round 1. Solomon did it on a horse that has not made a run since August.

“We battled and battled, there was a lot of people who helped get him back,” he said.

Solomon and Mayfield will compete in a Semifinal field that includes the likes of Tuf Cooper, Marty Yates, Riley Webb, Kincade Henry and Westyn Hughes.
