Taycie Matthews secured an emotional Go-Round win at the Calgary Stampede as she turned in the fastest time of Round 2 with a 17.58.
Matthews got the call inviting her to compete in Calgary just a week before the rodeo kicked off and she has made each run count along side her equine partner Poprocks as the team placed second in Round 1 bringing her total earnings to $12,500.
“She’s very special, she’s my mom’s horse and I can’t thank her enough for letting me ride her,” Matthews said.
Matthews is currently sitting No. 15 in the WCRA World Standings and heads into Round 3 of Pool B with a great chance of advancing into Finals.
