In the Qualifying Round, Summer Kosel broke an arena record with her 17.02-second run, and while she didn’t match that time in the Semifinals, her 17.34-second run was good enough to win the round and earn her a spot in Sunday’s finals in Cheyenne.
All of this is still a shock to Kosel, who talked about how great her horse Apollo has been.
“He is just blessed by the blood of Jesus there is no other explanation, half the time I am amazed.”
While Kosel has a great chance to win the rodeo, there was a time when she didn’t think she would be competing here.
“I didn’t really plan on entering, my friend said hey you need to go to Cheyenne. Joe Moody said go you have to experience it at least once so I just said okay just enter me.”
