Tanner Butner made his first California Rodeo Salinas one he will never forget after coming out on top in the saddle bronc riding and taking home the title.

In the Long Round, Butner made an 86.5-point ride on Corey & Lange Rodeo’s Summer Camp to come out in second place and tie with NFR qualifier Kolby Wanchuk.

He then finished out the rodeo with 88 points on Cypress Toddy to make the highest marked ride of the Short Go and win the rodeo with an aggregate score of 175. He won nearly $11,00 total in Salinas.

That same weekend, Butner also won checks at the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days (Utah) and the Snake River Stampede (Idaho).

This has been a big year in Butner’s career as he has also taken the Title at the World’s Oldest Rodeo and the West of Pecos Rodeo.

This win at the California Rodeo Salinas catapulted Butner to No. 15 in the PRCA World Standings after entering the weekend No. 20. The cowboy will continue to fight for his first NFR qualification throughout the remainder of the season.
