RodeoHouston has made some changes for 2023.

The women's breakaway roping, which previously took place once per SuperSeries and seven total performances, will now be 20 consecutive nights.

Additionally, there will be a second Wild Card Round and the Super Shootout will be removed from the schedule. The money previously allocated for the Super Shootout will now be paid during the Super Series.

The path to RodeoHouston will also be a little different next year. Rather than the local qualifier being held at Odessa's Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo, they will now take place at the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo and the Waller County Fair and Rodeo.

"We are committed to making RODEOHOUSTON the best it can be, for our fans and athletes alike, and as we look at our presentation and the growth across the sport of rodeo, we continue to evolve RODEOHOUSTON's offerings, as well as our presentation," Chris Boleman, Rodeo president and CEO, said in a news release. "The RODEOHOUSTON Super Shootout was a great part of our Rodeo over the last decade, but with this redistribution of funds, and the inclusion of breakaway roping, our purse is now larger than ever before. We're also excited to welcome Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo and Waller County Fair and Rodeo as our two new local qualifiers."

RodeoHouston will take place from Feb. 28, 2023 until March 19, 2023.
