Cory Solomon Cinches Round 3 Win at Calgary Stampede

After cinching his third Calgary Stampede Championship in 2021, Cory Solomon laughed that he might have to make a second home in Canada and this year, he is setting himself up for a fourth championship.

“It just seems to be my place and I’m just blessed to be here,” he said.

Solomon’s equine partner has been in his life for three years now and was originally purchased as a jackpot horse.

“Honestly, my mom and dad always saw something special in him and each year he just keeps getting better and better. He’s on the biggest stage now and I’m proud of him,” Solomon said.

With $9,000 racked up in the first three rounds, Solomon has one round left to add to his earnings and secure his spot in Championship Sunday. He is currently second in Pool B behind Tuf Cooper, who has been 7.3 seconds or faster on all three of his runs in Calgary.
