Rookie Waylon Bourgeois is hoping to make it four straight months with a rodeo win as he leads the bareback riding after the first performance of Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days.
Bourgeois was 85 points on Medicine Woman. It was the seventh time on 40 qualified rides this season that he was marked 85 points or better.
“Honestly, I’m just having fun,” he said afterward.
There were only four bareback riders competing Thursday night and Bourgeois was the only one to make the whistle. He has yet to be bucked off this season.
