Zeke Thurston & Sterling Crawley Tie for Lead at Redding Rodeo

Two of the top saddle bronc riders in the world shot to the top of Redding Rodeo’s leaderboard on night No. 1 of performances. Canada’s Zeke Thurston and Texas’ Sterling Crawley made a pair of 84 point rides to share the lead.

Thurston drew McCoy Rodeo’s Summer Camp, a paint horse that when paired with a cowboy of Thurston’s caliber, is set up to perform exceptionally.

“He’s actually named after the legendary golf tournament we have in Ellensburg every year so it’s a lot of fun and he’s a good horse,” Thurston said.

Crawley matched up with Owyhee Break of Big Bend Rodeo and his thought process when behind the bucking chutes is simple. His plan is to stick the basics that got him where he is and not make it more difficult than it is.

Thurston and Crawley have both had success at Redding Rodeo in past years and they are looking to add another win to their 2022 season.
