This week’s American Hats Positive Times shines light on five-year old Noah Patterson who is battling cancer. But you would have never guessed that when you saw him win the mutton bustin’ at the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo.
Before the evening performance kicked off, Patterson got to hang out with professional saddle bronc riders Jake Finlay and Mitch Pollock. Patterson’s mother, Morgan Garcia, has some friends on the rodeo committee that made sure Patterson’s Guymon Pioneer Days experience was everything and more.
Patterson went on to win not only the mutton bustin’ but the hearts of two saddle bronc riders along the way. He spent an hour and half behind the chutes with the rough stock riders and he left a lasting impact on them both.
