Joe Beaver Talks Douch Brothers & Family

John Douch is a National Finals Rodeo qualifier that holds a special place with Joe Beaver.

They had their first encounter when Douch brought a horse to Beaver to sell. When Douch refused to get on the horse and show Beaver what he could do, Beaver knew that Douch would always be honest with him. Sometimes, being honest was tough but it’s always paid off for the two.

When Douch was 15, Beaver entered him in three ropings at his Easter roping and Douch went on to win all three. He proved to Beaver that he could compete with the big guys.

“From the first time he brought that horse over, we got along and we just kind of clicked,” Beaver said.

The Douch brothers also clicked right away with Beaver’s wife, Jenna. The relationship between the Beavers and the Douch brothers began shortly after the Beaver’s lost their son, Brody.

“She’s not his mother, I’m not their dad. We care about them like that. And I tell Gladys and Cookie, their mom and dad, all the time, I love them like they’re mine,” Beaver said.

The success that the Douch brothers have had is one thing but Beaver said when they get done and you see that look in their eye, it makes it all worth it.
