Abby Phillips entered the Finals of the Clovis Rodeo with the lead in the barrel racing and made a 16.99 second run on Sunday.
“This is our first big win together, so it’s super special” she said of her horse. “He has no fear so I have to step out there and have no fear as well, even though sometimes I do have a little bit.”
Phillips made three consecutive runs of 17 seconds or faster as she was 16.90 to take third in Round 1 and 16.89 to take second in Round 2. She banked a total of $7,531 in Clovis and will likely move into the Top 20 of the WPRA Barrel Racing World Standings after entering the weekend No. 28.
