Nick Sartain and Reagan Ward advanced to the Finals in Austin without winning a check on either of their first two runs, but they made it up for it by winning $9,400 apiece thanks to a 4.2 second run in the winner-take-all Short Go.
“You know you got the best guys right here, it’s one of the best rodeos, so you want to win it,” Sartain said.
“He hardly ever misses, that’s easy heeling, Ward said of his partner.
Sartain/Ward beat out the last two World Champion pairs, Paul Eaves/Colby Lovell (5.3) and Kaleb Drggers/Junior Nogueira (6.0).
