Rookie Calf Roper Riley Webb Gets Win In Arcadia

Rookie Tie-Down Roper, Riley Webb, got another professional win this weekend in Arcadia, Florida where he tied his calf in 7.7 seconds.

Webb was just on tenth of a second off of the arena record that was set five years ago. It was in part to drawing a good calf but Webb also attributes his quick time to making almost a textbook run.

“The calves have been running here… blew the barrier out and then she was just waiting on me. [I] went down there, made no mistakes and it worked out today,” Webb said.

Being the No. 1 calf roper in the Resistol Rookie Standings, Webb knows all about pressure to be at the top.

“You just have to do your job everyday and hopefully they pay you. Hopefully we can have a great year and have some success this year,” Webb said.

Webb cashed in $4,822 while the next closest time to Webb was an 8.7 laid down by Ty Harris.
