Steiner won the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo as well as the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo however, he did so on his permit and those earnings do not count. Now, he is on his card and his climbing the standings.
Lucas Macza has earned $21,648 to be in the lead of the Resistol Rookie Saddle Bronc standings. Cash Wilson, Damian Brennan, Kody Rinehart and Dylan Schfield make up the rest of the top five.
You will recognize Macza’s last name, he comes from the family that owns Macza Pro Rodeo. He also drew one of the rankest broncs to have twice in San Antonio. That bronc is Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s Indian Burn and the rookie saddle bronc rider made the eight seconds both times going for 84 points and a round win.
In the bull riding, Bubba Greig is the No. 1 Rookie in the standings and he has been on fire. Lukasey Morris is a close second while Jack Gilmore, Cole Hould and Wade Berg fill in the top five.
Greig and Morris are travel partners and neither are strangers to big scores that bring in big checks to add to their success. Different in many ways, the two rookie bull riders have been going back and forth between first and second in the rookie race both having over $35,000 to their name. The rookie race in the bull riding will be tight all year long.
