Trey Benton III was 89 points aboard Stace Smith’s Underdog on Wednesday night to take the lead into the weekend at the Dixie National.
“I knew what I what had, talked to some guys, definitely worth coming to the Dixie National for,” he said. “It’s usually when you’re 88+ you don’t even remember (what happened on the ride).”
Benton III overtook first from world No. 1 Josh Frost, who was 87 points early on in the rodeo. Now, Benton III will have to wait and see if his score holds in the one-header through the final three performances this coming weekend.
