Lisa Lockhart Sweeps the Sunday Perfs in Denver, Moves to No. 4 in the Average

Lisa Lockhart was the star of the barrel race in both performances at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo on Sunday.

The 15-time NFR qualifier was 15.35 in Round 1 and 15.26 in Round 2, both of those times are in the Top 10 in their respective Go-Round and her aggregate time of 30.61 seconds is fourth behind Shannon McReynolds (29.90), Leslie Smalygo (30.38) and Michelle Darling (30.55).

Lockhart ran a young grey named Levee that she has not been on a ton in both rounds.

“You know, the (alley way) is offset and I didn’t start out well tonight, so I was worried about it, he (her horse) wasn’t picking up the correct lead and it’s just such an angle to the first and down the pen to the second,” Lockhart said after Round 2. “It’s really tough to have him be spot on and be honest, but he’s super honest and I can’t commend him enough for that.

Lockhart said Levee will be on the road with her for parts of the 2022 season.
