The first ever Breakaway Champion was crowned in Arlington, Texas but the ladies finally made it to Las Vegas this year where the second Champion went into the history books.
It came down to the final round before Sawyer Gilbert beat Shelby Boisjoli for the 2021 Gold Buckle.
Gilbert had an incredible regular season, but a big win came at the end of the season when she won the Pendleton Roundup.
We can expect big things from Gilbert and the rest of the Breakaway ladies as more rodeos include breakaway and the times get faster and better.
