Best Moments of 2021: Sunday’s eight-man round of bareback riding at The American Rodeo

After the field was whittled from 16 down to eight at The American Rodeo, some of the best bareback riders on the planet were one step closer to the $100,000 (or $1 million) prize.

In the eight-man round, six-time World Champion Kaycee Feild lead the way with 92 points aboard Calgary Stampede’s Soap Bubbles and 2020 Resistol Rookie of the Year Cole Reiner was also in the 90s with a 90.5. Eight-time NFR qualifier Tilden Hooper and three-time World Champion Tim O’Connell joined them in the four-man Shootout with 85.5 and 84.5 respectively.

Tilden Hooper went on to win the rodeo with a 90.5-point ride on Frontier’s Gun Fire in the winner-take-all Shootout Round.

The other four cowboys who made the eight-man were Jess Pope, Tanner Aus, Mason Clements and Clayton Biglow, all of whom have made multiple NFRs as of 2021.
