Casey Deary and his nine-year-old daughter, Joy, have been busy living their dreams.
Deary, won his third NRHA Futurity Level 4 Open Championship title. He rode Ten Thirty to score 225 points in Round 1 and 223.5 in the Final Round. Ten Thirty is a horse that Deary has known of since he was sold in the yearling sale.
“This horse is so talented… I did the best I could to showcase his strengths and keep him happy through the spots that I was somewhat concerned about. But he got better and stronger as the week went on,” Deary said.
Deary has worked to build up his business and this win was a special one to Deary and the family that owns Ten Thirty.
Working in the family business is Deary’s daughter, Joy. Joy achieved a huge accomplishment when she carried the American Flag during the Round Nine Grand Entry at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joy carried the flag on her favorite pony, Jill, around the Thomas and Mack. After a video posted by her mother went viral, Joy was asked if she wanted to be a part of the NFR.
“It was awesome, and I got a little bit nervous, but it was very fun,” Joy said.
Joy and Jill gave their family a memory that they will never forget, meanwhile, Deary himself added to his lifetime earnings. The Deary family has had an amazing December so far, now Joy’s pony Jill gets a day off and a lot of treats.
