Resistol Rookie of the Year, Bull Riding: Creek Young

Creek Young finished his rookie year ranked no. 4 in the world standings and he is headed to his first ever Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. He is also the Resistol Rookie of the Year.

Young started his 2020 season with a check from the Ram Prairie Circuit Finals in Duncan, Oklahoma but his first big score of the year came when he won the Egg Xtreme Bull Riding in Oxford, Mississippi with 88 points on Universal Pro Rodeo’s Wicked Paradise. He went on to pull checks at Rodeo Rapid City and at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

CREEK YOUNG RENO RODEO 81 POINTS

Young hit his stride over the summer rodeos getting the win in Pleasant Grove, Utah with 90.5 points on Exit Strategy of Bar T Rodeo and placing fourth in the first round of the Reno Rodeo with 81 points on White Noise of Flying 5 Rodeo. At the Greeley Stampede is was an 84 point ride on Fake Friend of Beutler and Son Rodeo that pulled him a check and he went on the to win the Xtreme Bulls in Red Lodge, Montana with 86.5 points.

CREEK YOUNG XTREME BULLS FINALE PENLDETON OREGON 86.5 POINTS

Utah was a hot spot for the rookie when he won over $5,000 the weekend of July 20, in Ogden and Spanish Fork. Later in the summer, he would win the Missoula Stampede Xtreme Bulls with 89.5 points and the Omak Stampede with 86.5 points. In Ellensburg, Young won over $4,000 between the rodeo and the Xtreme Bulls. It was at the Tri-State Rodeo when he won over $15,000 that held Young’s spot in top 5 and then his success at California Rodeo Salinas that sent him to the NFR behind only three of the best bull riders today.

Young is a face that we look forward to seeing under the bright lights of Vegas.
