We are nearing the end of the 2021 rodeo season and the wear and tear on the athletes is being felt throughout the PRCA. Several athletes are dinged up, some more serious than others.

Riley Minor has a left ankle fracture and separated his right shoulder, but because he is the 15th ranked header in the PRCA he will be competing in hopes of making his 11th career NFR. Riley’s roping partner and brother Brady Minor is also on the bubble in the 14th spot.

Matt Palmer was a big winner last week, taking the XTreme Bulls Finale in Pendleton, but it came at a high price. Palmer has a right knee sprain and a likely ACL tear, but he will also be competing this week.

Many saw Jolene Hoburg get in a scary wreck in Pendleton turning a barrel where she came off of her horse. In a Facebook post she wrote, “Now that I don’t think I am being abducted by aliens, I am feeling better today. A few goose eggs on my head, a couple of hematomas on my leg, a broken arm, a concussion, and a very bruised ego.”
