The bull riding bubble is awfully tight with less than $1,500 separating No. 14 and No. 17 in the PRCA World Standings.

The cowboys in the middle of it all are No. 14 Jeff Askey ($84,065), No. 15 Laramie Mosley ($83,456) No. 16 Ruger Piva ($82,928) and No. 17 Roscoe Jarboe ($82,511).

In 14th is four-time NRR qualifier Jeff Askey. Askey has won over $22,000 in September and is up to four spots after starting the month No. 18 in the PRCA World Standings. Askey’s average score of 82.6 points in 2021 is the highest of his career.

No. 15 is Laramie Mosley, who will have to wait and see if he qualifiers for the NFR because he is out with a neck injury suffered earlier this month.

Ruger Piva is in NFR contention thanks to his performance at the Pendleton Xtreme Bulls on Sept. 13-14. He was the third-highest money earner at the event, going 3-for-4 and placing in three rounds to bring in $12,654. Piva has spent the last six weeks barely inside the Top 15 and now, with a week left in the season, he is $528 out.

Roscoe Jarboe is also within $1,000 of Mosley and the No. 15 spot heading into the ProRodeo Tour Finale. Jarboe has been right on the bubble for the last month and has earned about $17,000 in September. He won the Lewiston Roundup (Wyoming) and the Sanders County Fair (Montana) earlier in the month.

No. 18 Jordan Spears ($80,004) is still in the mix but has some work to do and Pendleton Xtreme Bulls champion Matt Palmer ($75,120) and 2020 NFR qualifier Brady Portenier ($74,128) also have an outside chance.
