R.C. Landingham moves to No. 13 in the bareback riding after win Pendleton

R.C. Landingham was No. 15 in the PRCA World Bareback Riding Standings coming into the Pendleton Round-Up and he delivered a performance that may lead to his first NFR berth since 2017.

Landingham, who has been battling injuries on and off over the last three years, was the winner of the Long Round, Short Round and the Average to earn more than $13,000 and putting him almost $10,000 clear of Mason Clements in 16th.

Landingham was 177 points on two, with 89.5 of them coming on Calgary’s Choke Cherry on Saturday, which tied the arena record. Landingham’s 177 points total points were also a Pendleton record.

“Being on the bubble pushed me a little hard to get that win,” he said afterward. “It’s such a huge relief (to get this win), I’ve been missing my family quite a bit......This will give me a little break, I’ll get to go home to the wife and kid now.”
