Stetson Wright Wins It All In Pendleton

Stetson Wright took home three championships from the Pendleton Round-Up this year by winning the all-around, saddle bronc riding and bull riding.

He is now sitting No. 1 in the saddle bronc riding and No. 2 in the bull riding after taking home $22,476 total from Oregon.

In the saddle bronc riding, Wright rode Burch Rodeo’s Lunatic From Hell for 91.5 points in the Short Go on Saturday making him 182.5 points on two head. The next closest cowboy was Tegan Smith with 177 points.

He then went on to go for 89 points on Four Star Rodeo’s Royal Playboy in the bull riding and clinch that championship as well, finishing 12 points clear of Parker Breding, the only other cowboy to ride two at the Round-Up.

WRIGHT’S SHORT ROUND BULL RIDE

Wright broke the record for regular season earnings at the beginning of last week when he had $282,722 between saddle bronc riding and bull riding and his Pendleton wins broke a record previously owned by Trevor Brazile (2012) for money won at the Round-Up in one year. Wright also became the first cowboy since Lewis Feild in 1989 to win three events: the All-Around, Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding.

“I’ve always dreamed of it but for it to be coming true this fast, it’s pretty sweet. I’m just having the time of my life right now,” Wright said after he won the saddle bronc.

The young cowboy is having a record breaking year with no intentions of slowing down.
