Dustin Boquet had a great week of rodeo but the highlight for him was winning Dodge City on a bull he has been waiting to get on.
The only bull rider to ride in the short round Boquet went for 91.5 points on Frontier Rodeo’s Gladiator’s Hammer and it was everything he was hoping for and more.
“I don’t hoop and holler too much but after that one I was pretty fired up about it,” Boquet said. He had the fans on their feet cheering the entire ride and he could hear it the entire eight seconds.
Winning the rodeo was at the top but the buckle from Dodge City won’t stay with Boquet, instead he has plans to give the prestigious buckle to his dad, which was his goal all along. Boquet now sits No. 7 in the world.
