JB Mauney gets Round win in Cheyenne with Top Scoring Ride of the Rodeo

To close out Day 5 on Wednesday afternoon at Cheyenne Frontier Days, 2X PBR World Champion JB Mauney took the round win with 87.5 points on Dakota Rodeo’s Eagle Eye - the highest score of the rodeo so far.

Winning Reno, Pike’s Peak, and the Spanish Fork XTreme bulls, JB has been on a hot streak this summer and he’s climbed his way to No. 3 in the PRCA World Standings, on the heels of Sage Kimzey and Stetson Wright.

Holding his son Jagger during the sideline interview, JB said, “This is what it’s all about you know, family. Rodeo is a family, and when I’ve got my wife and little boy with me, that means everything.” Smiling at his son, he added, “I’m pretty sure I love bull riding, but I think this one loves it more.”

All of the bull riders compete twice in Cheyenne to advance to the Semifinals, and JB Mauney is up again this afternoon. Don’t miss Day 6 of the Cheyenne Frontier Days live at 3:00 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+ app!
