Tilden Hooper after his bareback riding win in Reno

Tilden Hooper won the First Round and placed on all three of his horses to win the Reno Rodeo with a score of 254.5 points on three head.

Hooper was 84 in the Finals to edge Caleb Bennett, who was 85.5 in the Finals, by just one point. It was Hooper’s second career win in Reno and the last time he did it was almost decade ago.

“You just gotta stay solid to find success in this arena,” he said. “These rodeos where those three head like that you gotta make the most out of all of ‘em.”

Hooper won about $14,000 to re-take the No. 1 spot in the PRCA World Standings from Tim O’Connell. He now leads by just over $10,000.
