The College National Finals Rodeo wrapped up in Casper, Wyoming on Saturday, but there will be a lot of opportunities to watch many of these cowboys and cowgirls compete this summer because of the crossover into ProRodeo.
Cole Franks, the 2021 college all-around National Champion is one example. He is currently No. 20 in the PRCA Bareback Riding World Standings. Franks is No. 1 in the Resistol Rookie of the Year race.
Another example is Macon Murphy from Panola College. He was 39.1 on four to claim the tie-down roping to claim the college National Championship. He is hitting the ProRodeo trail this summer and he’s No. 42 in the PRCA currently.
The last example is an animal athlete. Bridger Anderson was the 2019 college National Champion in the steer wrestling, but in 2021 it was his horse, Whiskers, getting the shine. Whiskers was named the Horse of the Year at the CNFR. Anderson won a Go-Round at the NFR on Whiskers in 2020.
